DID YOU HAVE FUN THIS SUMMER??
As promised here are the children's projects we made in August 2009

NOTE - New Classroom Location:  Our workshops and Gathering Stitches are now held at the Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway.   Please note if you bring your own lunch: the kitchen is no longer available to guild members on workshop days.  A McDonald's is right across the street, and there are several other places to eat, like "Subway" in the general area.
Future workshops are up to you!  Because attendance at workshops has fallen off in recent years, we have adopted a far more conservative policy in booking future teachers.  Although the guild underwrites some of the expense of our teachers, our Standing Rules mandate that workshops shall be self-sustaining.  We have calculated that with all the expenses (travel, teacher fees and an increase in GGCC fee) a minimum of 15 participants is our break-even point.  In fairness to our teachers and to enable us to avoid paying for things we can’t use, we must decide at least 30 days in advance whether we will have a workshop or will need to cancel it.  We simply cannot wait until the day before.

What can you do to help?

If you have any questions or want to sign up for any of our wonderful classes,

CHILDREN'S PROJECTS - August 2009
Charlotte Warr Anderson
Pieced Pictures - Friday March 19, 2010
You will translate pictures, line drawings, photographs, into piecework - a technique that gives slightly more abstract look to the subject. You will make a patchwork of animals, landscapes, buildings or anything you choose. you may opt to get intricate enough that your friends will think you have applique instead of pieced. This is a different  approach to pieced pictures than you may have learned elsewhere and is applicable to pictures ranging from block size to a full size quilt. your perfect may be simple or more challenging depending on your skill level. Below are some examples of Charlotte's pieced pictures.
